As summer winds down and farmers get ready for another harvest season, it’s a great time to celebrate the incredible agriculture and locally produced food and drinks here in B.C.
From fresh berries and dairy, to craft beer and B.C. wine, we’re home to a thriving food and beverage sector that feeds our communities and powers our economy.
All year long, British Columbians have been showing their support for local farmers and producers. Whether it’s shopping at farmers markets, choosing B.C. brands at the grocery store, or ordering directly from local businesses online.
Every time we “BuyBC” we’re not just enjoying high-quality products, we’re investing in our province’s food security, creating good jobs, and building a resilient, diverse economy.
That’s why programs like the B.C. Agriculture and Food Export Program are so important. With funding through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, this initiative is helping B.C. food and beverage producers grow their businesses and reach new international markets.
In the past three years, the program has supported over 100 projects with nearly $2.7 million in funding, helping B.C. companies expand into global markets and generate millions in new sales.
Thank you for being part of a community that values local, supports sustainability, and helps B.C. shine on the global stage.
