Vote now for a Community Kitchen at new Marpole Neighbourhood House

Posted in:

We need your help!  The new Marpole Neighbourhood House (MNH) is opening on April 2019 at the old Heritage Firehall #22 in Marpole — and they have submitted a great idea to the Aviva Community Fund.

It’s to start a Community Kitchen and if they receive the most online votes when the voting ends – they will use the grand prize of $100,000 to run the kitchen all year long.  The money will go towards the purchase of kitchen equipment, a weekly lunch to the community, cooking workshops and the creation of an intercultural, intergenerational recipe exchange.

Each email address gets 10 votes and voting ends on FRIDAY OCT 4TH.  For more info on the project and to register to vote, please visit:

Marpole is one of Vancouver’s lowest income neighbourhoods with about 1 in 4 residents in low-income households and with nearly 20% as single parent families.  A Community Kitchen for this neighbourhood is a much-needed project and I hope you can take few minutes of your day to register, vote and show your support!
